In retrospect, I realize I had a choice to make that would shape the rest of my life. My sudden transition into the life of a quadriplegic and near death illness has taught me to live for today for tomorrow may not come or it may come, but not as planned. Each time I could see in some of their eyes that they understood immediately. Every time I give classroom presentations and ask the students to pretend they are me when answering this question: If I could go back to the day that I became paralyzed and change what happen, would I? Most students would guess my answer to be"Yes." Then when I tell then my answer is always: No I would not change anything because if I did I WOULD NOT BE HERE WITH YOU TODAY. I've learned that it is not the end result that matters but the experiences that lead us to our destiny.

Omort, who got wind of the plot, sent his half-sister Sabine, queen of illusions to intercept Rydstrom before he got to Groot. okay okay I'm rambling and gushing now! But basically there are just 3 really good reasons why you should download this book right now - and they are:- 1) It was written by Kresley Cole - a gifted and talented author 2) It's narrated by Robert Petkoff - simply THE best narrator that Audible's got 3) It's only $9.89 for 12 hours, yes under $10 for 12 heavenly hours of paranormal perfectionĪgain Robert P nails the narration of this book! Loved it! Occurring concurrently with Book 6, the fallen King Rydstrom Woede was on this way to meet his brother Cade, as they attempt to make a trade with Groot for a sword forged with the expressed purpose of defeating Rydstrom’s archenemy Omort the Deathless. Then, as the hours tick by, you encounter some magical, scarred, interesting, sexy (I know I said it twice but it's sooo important), likeable, vengeful, evil or just plain loveable characters who all inhabit this listen and they will mesmerise, entertain and capture your imagination right from the first chapter. I could ramble and gush on and on about just how awesome the world-building, multi-layered, action-packed plot it was - which was riddled with funny, witty, gripping, entertaining, sexy, passionately, tender, torturous scenes. WOO HOO 6 IS HERE BUT BOO HOO COZ I'VE FINISHED IT 5/30/2023 0 Comments Arthur miller's play the crucibleThese rumors are largely encouraged by Abigail, a 17-year-old girl, in order to frame Elizabeth Proctor as a witch, so that she can win over her husband John Proctor. In 1962, accusations of witchcraft wreak havoc in the isolated and theocratic society of Salem. It premiered in Germany in 1949 and in the U.S. exile Lion Feuchtwanger wrote Wahn, Oder der Teufel in Boston in 1947, and he used the witch trials as an allegory for persecutions against suspected communists. The government of Salem, and of Massachusetts as a whole, is a theocracy, with the legal system based on the Christian Bible. The citizens of Arthur Miller’s Salem of 1692 would consider the very concept of a private life heretical. Fun Fact: Another Salem-themed play was circulating when The Crucible premiered. The Crucible is a play about the intersection of private sins with paranoia, hysteria, and religious intolerance.Notable Adaptations: 1996 movie with a screenplay by Miller himself, starring Winona Ryder as Abigail Williams and Daniel Day Lewis as John Proctor Ivo van Hove’s 2016 Broadway revival set in a classroom, with Saoirse Ronan as Abigail Williams.Major Characters: John Proctor, Abigail Williams, Elizabeth Proctor, John Hathorne, Jonathan Danforth.Themes: Mass hysteria and fear, reputation, conflict with authority, faith vs. Holly Gleason of American Songwriter writes, "Strength has always been Oscar-nominee Allison Moorer’s suit-and at a time when she enlists roots wizard Buddy Miller to ply an even more organic stew of instruments, the Alabama-born singer/songwriter makes herself even more vulnerable by jettisoning what she knows for what she feels, thinks, believes." In his review for AllMusic, Thom Jurek wrote that it "is a natural sounding set of covers that runs the gamut from rock and barrelhouse blues, to jazz, country, and traditional and indie folk." The title track, the only original song on the album, written by Moorer, is "a breezy acoustic ballad." Moore's rendition of Patti Smith's 'Dancing Barefoot' "has to be heard to be believed" and is "a contender for best track on the set." After raving over Moorer's creative and emotional interpretations of many of the album's other tracks, Jurek concludes by claiming that Mockingbird is her "warmest, most ambitious, and gutsy record yet." Mockingbird was produced by Buddy Miller. Moorer covers songs by Nina Simone, Patti Smith, Cat Power, June Carter Cash, Joni Mitchell, as well as her sister Shelby Lynne. Mockingbird is an album of covers by Allison Moorer released in 2008. 5/30/2023 0 Comments Man act like womanSteve Harvey is a TV-icon, comedian, author, and a radio personality. Or more specifically, I believe Paul is identifying with an unconverted, though zealous and pious, Jew who is trying to conquer sin by obeying the Mosaic Law apart from the Spirit. Again, Piper believes that Paul is describing a believer in Romans 7:14-25, whereas Andrian and I do not. I’d like offer a counter response to Piper’s strongest arguments for his view. Andrian Warnock and I both responded to John Piper’s interpretation of Romans 7, to which Piper has recently posted a response on the Desiring God blog. "Make the announcement, Four." The boy- Four- looks over his shoulder and shouts, "First jumper, Tris!"įour is first seen helping Tris get out of the net after she jumps through the hole into the Dauntless compound. "Think about it," he says, a faint smile curling on his lips."You don't get to pick again." A new place, a new name. But "Beatrice" just doesn't sound right anymore. "What's your name?" "Um." I don't know why I hesitate. "A stiff, the first to jump? Unheard of." "There's a reason she left them, Lauren," he says. He finished first in his initiation class, and chose to work in the intelligence sector of Dauntless, but also decided to train the initiates. As a result, his instructor, Amar, started calling him "Four." Tobias accepted it so he could escape his past. During his initiation training, when he went through his fear landscape, it was discovered Tobias only had four fears, with the average being between ten and fifteen. During his aptitude tests he got an Abnegation result, but chose Dauntless as his faction at the Choosing Ceremony to escape his father. Tobias became a victim to his father's cruelty. Evelyn supposedly died when Tobias was young, leaving Tobias alone with Marcus. His father was said to have noticed his Divergence at a young age and became observant of him since then. Tobias was born to Marcus and Evelyn Eaton in the Abnegation faction. “I fear I cannot escape the state any longer.” Richard leaned against the squabs with his hands folded casually across his middle. “I’d had the notion of paying you a call after I visited Adel.”Ī dark brow lifted. His eyes glowed with approval and something far gentler that she was unable to interpret. I’ll take directions from her on where to start.” I’m aware she’s become patron to several underfunded charities. “I’d intended to call upon Adel this afternoon. She could not imagine how to start and hoped that at least conversations with the right ear would open doors. I’ll do everything in my power to gain interest for your charities.” There had never been a worthier employment for her intellect and time. He lowered his hand, and she felt bereft of his warmth. I never expected you to visit this side of town, but I am damned glad you came.” Settling into his seat, he leaned forward and skimmed his thumb over the curve of her cheeks so tenderly a lump formed in her throat. He pulled the blinds tightly closed so her presence within his carriage would not be noted by any of London’s gossips. The carriage rocked and swayed, taking her away from the cold, ugly streets of London. Richard assisted Evie into the parked carriage, tapped on the door, and the equipage lurched into motion. 5/29/2023 0 Comments The witches of karres seriesAll the galaxy loves a clown - as long as Pausert, Goth and the Leewit can keep their disguises from slipping.
